TEHRAN -- Animation “Muhammad, the Last Prophet” will be premiered at the 14th Quran International Exhibition in the fasting month of Ramadan, which begins on Sept. 25, the Persian service of the student news agency ISNA reported here Wednesday.

Written by Brian Nissen and directed by Richard Rich, the movie is the 2004 product of the U.S. RichCrest Animation Studios.

“The purchase of the animated film is not our main goal as we plan to meet the audiences’ cultural needs,” said Bijan Rabbani, an Islamic Ideology Dissemination Organization (IIDO) official. “One of the best ways to introduce the sacred men of God is to narrate their lives in animations and cartoons so that children can easily understand them.”

The animation has been dubbed into Persian by the dubbing manager Mehrdad Raiisi and company.

It is a 90-minute movie told as a children's fable, whose theme revolves around the developments after the birth of Islam.
